A wealthy acquaintance of mine just built a new barn that looks identical to a 1890s era barn. Best of both worlds?

Did he buy antique timbers or have them antiqued?

I would love to turn an old barn into a house. This one I was just passing thru. It was an old hardware store. They were closing and having a huge close out sale. I asked if I could explore the upper floor a little and they said go for it but watch for the holes in the floor

He had the interior “antiqued", though it looks more like a modern intrepretation of an old barn; it's going to be used as a wedding hall, so the interior is open beam but they're made to be very pretty. The exterior walls were done with cinder block and then a stone facade was put up, quarried from the same area where original 1800s stone was quarried.

I can almost see where the Kitchen, Dining and Living areas would be in that first pic.
Almost makes me wish I stayed with the ex long enough to inherit her dads old farm..
